In this video, I cut open a plug that goes to a GM 4L60E transmission to see how it works and how to properly remove the pins. This connector is very similar to the 4L65E, 4L70E, and 4L80E transmission connectors. I found out exactly what holds the pins inside the connector, and how to easily remove them from the plug itself. Hint: It’s super easy:
- Remove the green cap
- Push the wire that you want to remove toward the green cap
- Insert a pick into the connector and bend the tab up
- Pull the wire out of the 4L60E / 4L80E connector
